Have you ever read the book The Four Agreements?
I just finished listening to the audio book.
It's pretty epic.
It totally has a way rearranging the mind legos.
There is so much judgement and opinion that has been a part of my every day life for as long as I can remember.
Something that I have been trying to do for the last several years is to set aside judgment and opinion. And the funny thing is that "My" desire to do that is also some kind of judgment and opinion. To "Be" the person that I think "I" should be.
It so crazy how books like this can add so much perspective. Adding applicable courses of action. And yet leave me curious.
Agreement Number 1
Be impeccable with your word. I love the way the author describes this one. Like magic. It had a cost. It has a light and dark side. The term sin or sinner always rubbed me the wrong way. But the way they describe it is "To act against oneself" To say(think) hurtful things to someone else or to oneself, to spread gossip, guilt or shame, is actually hurtful to oneself.
So think about that for a minute. My next post will be about Agreement Number 2.
